What is DashNex Code?

DashNex Code is an interactive AI coding assistant that runs in your terminal. It connects to an LLM and gives it access to your project files, shell commands, and development tools — so you can build features, fix bugs, and manage your WebApp through natural conversation.

What You'll Be Able to Do

• Chat with AI about your code — ask questions, get explanations, and request changes in plain language
• Read, write, and edit files — the assistant can browse your project, make edits, and create new files on your behalf
• Run shell commands — execute bash commands, run tests, and manage your development workflow without leaving the chat
• Search your codebase — find files by pattern, search content with regex, and navigate large projects quickly
• Control permissions — approve or deny sensitive operations like file writes and script execution with a fine-grained permission system
• Resume previous sessions — pick up where you left off with full conversation history
• Switch AI models — change the underlying model mid-conversation to suit different tasks
• Extend with plugins, MCP servers, and custom skills — connect custom tools and external services to your coding sessions

DashNex Code uses DashNex Credits to pay for AI usage.
